Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Job Purpose:
Execute contract management by ensuring all the company’s contractual obligations, rights and duties as mentioned in the conditions of contract are discharged and administered accordingly. To ensure the submission of progress payment applications and the issuance of payment certificates and the receipt of payment.

Job Responsibility, Authorities and Accountability
- Pre-contract-analysis and review of the conditions of contract and prepare Tender Commercial Review Report for management’s decision
- Review subcontract prior to signing of agreement to ensure it is in order
- Advise on and address contractual issues
- Prepare and submit notification and detailed particulars for Extension of Time application and Statement at Completion
- Ensure the submission of progress payment applications and the issuance of payment certificates and the receipt of payment
- Correspond with the client/client rep/engr. on contractual issues
- Advise on insurance to preserve our contractual entitlement requirement for contract
- Prepare the sub contract documents as needed
- Experience in Extension of Time (EOT), Claims, Arbitrations

Core Competencies
- Cost Planning and Control Estimating: Provide a full system of budget estimating and cost planning in order to control expenditure, ensure that the client receives better value-for-money in both design & construction, and that the project cost is kept within the agreed budget.
- Construction Procurement System: Implementation of best suitable construction procurement system for the construction project, which must take into account elements of supply chain management.
- Contract Documentation: Prepare/check contract documents.
- Contract Administration: Evaluate implications of changes in design/specifications requests, whether it compromises the integrity of the design, or the approvals or the contract sum.Prepare/check contract documents.
- Feasibility/ Viability Studies: Provide initial cost advice and feasibility studies which are crucial during the project's inception stage.
- Valuation/Financial Management: Prepare and/or check interim valuations, accurate evaluation of variations and claims. Prepare and issue payment certificates to subcontractors.
- Development Economics: The ability to meet differing and changing client needs.
- Arbitration and Dispute Resolution: To perform arbitration skilfully in technical and legal matters.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline, Graduate degree preferred
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a Commercial/Contracts role of which 3 must have been in a managerial position with full contractual conditions oversight
- Additional relevant qualification would be an advantage
- Equivalent combination of education, training and experience
