We are currently inviting applications for Multiskilled Technician to join Hamad Medical Corporation.

As a valued member of the team, your core trade is electrical, to work on all aspects of electrical infrastructure, building services and building works. Post holder will also have a working knowledge and practice of other engineering and building trades (Multi-skilled). To deliver an appropriate high quality engineering service to the designated area/ locality, ensuring at all times a service, which is safe, and effective, ensuring all works and services are carried out in a professional, efficient and progressive manner, to a high technical standard. To maintain, fault find and work on critical engineering infrastructure essential to maintaining an environment for the delivery of safe clinical services.

Responsibilities:
- Undertake all related maintenance tasks as required by Supervisor. Undertake repair work on electrical and general building services. Undertake work of other trades as may be reasonably required by a multiskilled craftsman.
- Undertake installations, new works and improvements as required. Diagnose breakdown and failures in plant, machinery, engineering equipment and undertake subsequent repairs within his/her competence. In support of the supervisor, to ensure the day to day efficient and safe working of all electrical plant on site.
- To work within the framework of Engineering department health & safety policies and protocols, ensuring that working practices comply with these in both spirit and practise. Plan and carry out routine maintenance (PPM) of electrical plant as directed by the supervisor.
- To fault find and maintain various types of alarm system. To fault find and install building electrical services. Undertake adjustments of building management systems.
- Have experience of LV, MV, standby and emergency power supplies. To carry out minor electrical work such as connection/disconnection of belt drives, pulley and direct drive couplings. To interpret and work from all instructions, drawings and specifications appropriate to his/her trade, without supervision.
- To efficiently diagnose and repair faults in electrical installations, plant and equipment; to deal with new situations as they arise and to pass on knowledge to others. To set out new work or set up new production appropriate to his/her trade using relevant instruments and machinery, without supervision.
- To manufacture, assemble, erect and install new work. To be able to communicate and assist with colleagues in Planning & Projects to implement new works as required. To use all relevant tools and equipment.
- To learn new techniques with training. To attend training courses as required by the engineering department and also by industry standards. This includes meeting (by assessment) and acting as “competent person” (electrical safety which requires re-assessment every 3 years). To have an understanding of the relationship of other craftsperson's work to his/her own.
- To work overtime, sometimes at short notice, if available to do so. To report all defects on all items of equipment and any potential hazardous risk to Supervisor.
- To ensure that all policies and procedures laid down by the corporation are strictly complied with. The duties of the post remain under constant review and any change will be discussed prior to their implementation. To take part in the on-call rota/bleep system for emergency call-outs. To initiate the best course of action problem solving and fault finding.
- Carry out installation, repairs and planned preventative maintenance on the control systems for sterilisers, washer disinfectors, heating systems, motors, pumps, heat recovery, ventilation systems. Inc statutory inspections and testing on specialist engineering services, engineering plant and equipment, and complete necessary documentation.
- Must be able to achieve acceptable standards of workmanship and productivity which will be monitored by asset and labour management system.
- Carry out all work in accordance with the department’s generic Risk Assessments and non-generic Risk Assessments as and when required.
- To work in hazardous areas taking all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment
- Train and instruct other trades including apprentices and new starters as and when required.

Operational Duties:
- Carry out engineering operational, emergency, reactive and planned maintenance to required timeframe.
- Work alternating shift systems and any additional hours as necessary to meet the needs of the clinical services or as needed to meet the operational requirements and any emergency situation.
- May be required to works in areas of uncontrolled hazards i.e. Oil & gas leak, steam leak, live electrical systems, working with bodily fluids, raw sewage.
- Deal with telephone queries as required, responding to helpdesk emergencies/major incidents as required.

Requirements

- Must have completed a recognized diploma in an engineering related subject; B.tech standard or other compatible recognized (measurable) qualification
- 3 years GCC experience, a qualification or trade certificate, experience of complex infrastructure associated with large complexes such as hospital, universities or large campus of similar nature
