Planning Engineer

Job description / Role

Currie & Brown has a range of opportunities within the Middle East region and is currently seeking a Planning Engineer to work on a prestigious project in Qatar.

The ideal candidate will have broad experience in building sectors i.e. education, healthcare, hospitality, sports facilities, stadiums, commercial property, residential property, transport and logistics, oil and gas, government and associated infrastructure works.

Role:
- Primarily responsible for the provision of the construction services of the planning aspects
- Monitor the planning and project controlling works for conformance with project procedures
- Follow up of contractors daily and weekly reports
- Follow up of contractors look ahead submission
- Prepare and finalise the weekly progress report submission and the weekly quantity report to client
- Liaise and coordinate with the contractor and the client
- Attend all necessary meeting with the contractor and the client
- Review and analyse the contractors claims and prepare recommendations reports
- Primavera Schedule tracking for progress updates and to verify the accuracy and for various

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline
- Primavera (P6 or Primavera Contract Management) working experience and certification
- Minimum ten (10) years' experience, three (3) years of which should be in a similar role with engineering consultancy or project management consultancy
- Middle East experience
- Excellent English communication and report writing skills
- Excellent customer service, communication and client/external interface skills
- Well organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, well disciplined and commercially astute
- A track record of working with teams and managing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering to deadlines
- Must have strong experience in delivery of cost consultancy and contract advisory services
- Experience working on behalf of clients, project management and engineering consultancy experience also beneficial to the role
