Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Plans and prepares production schedules for fabrication, instillation, and repair of industrial process systems:
- Draws up master/discipline schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet Companies forecasted master schedule.
- Monitor and confirm updates to Subcontractor’s schedule as correct and accurate.
- Ensures that assignment and scheduling of work follows the critical path and basic construction logical process.
- Evaluates current procedures and recommends changes to improve the efficiency of planning and scheduling of project.
- Review and confirm human resource requirements, (manpower loading) for the schedule.
- Plan and schedule workflow for each craft and operation according to previously established sequences and lead times.
- Plans the sequence of pre-fabrication, any shop assembly, installation, and other operations for guidance of Subcontractors construction workers.
- Planner/Scheduler confers with Company management to determine status of the project.
- Expedites operations that delay the project schedule.
- Recommendations to alter the schedule to meet unforeseen conditions and mitigate slippages.
- Prepares and issue weekly/monthly Project progress reports.

Requirements

- The ability to produce and track the progress effectively by regular site visits and to communicate progress-tracking sheets effectively.
- Advanced knowledge of and proficient with MS Office products (Excel, Project, Words, etc) and Primavera 6.
- The ability to direct, follow direction and lead Contractor/Subcontractors.
- The ability to work together with Client and Subcontract representatives as part of a group.
- The ability to accurately communicate ideas, instructions, questions, risks, and proposed solutions.
- The ability to accurately receive questions, ideas, direct problems and provide guidance to management for instructions, solutions or understanding of the nature and causes of the risks.
- Have excellent communications skills

The Planner/Scheduler – Construction: Typically serves as member of first line management and is considered a senior professional within the organization.
- As such, the Planner/Scheduler – Construction: Provides the team with good technical inputs, resolutions and apply his expertise and experience with complex technical activities
- The organization will depend on this person's experience and innovative inputs for the effective execution of the works.
- Interacts with designers, clients and construction site work teams
- Requires excellent experience and received training from an accredited institute for the operation of the necessary software for MSP and Primavera P6.
- A bachelor's degree would be a preference but is not the governing factor.
- At least 8/10 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas or Chemical Plant industry.
- Familiar with a variety of field concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish project goals.
- Performs a variety of tasks.
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- Typically reports to the Site Manager/Project Controls Manager and Project Manager.
