Planning Manager - Roads/Highways

Menasa and Partners is currently conducting a search for Planning Manager to work with international consultancy company working on major roads/highways projects in Qatar.

Planning manager is responsible for short and long range project planning and scheduling functions, supervising assigned professional, technical, and clerical personnel, including department staff and outside consultants, assigning work, organising and directing the timely completion of complex reports, other written materials, and oral reports for dissemination to project management team, client, project parties and external agencies, and coordinates activities with all packages, other divisions, and departments.

Reporting to the Project Controls Manager and responsible for the overall planning, scheduling and coordination of the project.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage a team of planners
- Developing and maintaining project planning and reporting standards and procedures
- Preparation and maintenance of the project work break down structure and integrated project master schedule
- Coordination with Consultants and Contractors
- Analysing and reporting on Consultants and Contractors schedules and progress reports
- Perform critical path analysis of schedules
- Prepare independent risk analyses of Consultant and Contractor schedules
- Preparation of monthly and weekly reports
- Preparing and making presentations

Requirements

- BSc in Civil Engineering or any related degree in Engineering.
- 15 + years post graduate experience
- Minimum of 5 years in a management role
- Sound knowledge of all engineering and commercial aspects of major civil and infrastructure projects including roads, bridges and utilities
- Experienced user of Primavera P6, Pertmaster and MS Office
- Excellent knowledge of CPM networks, resource and cost loading and risk management techniques
- Ability to effectively monitor and analyse progress, identify trends and recommend corrective actions
- Excellent report writing skills
- Previous experience in the Middle East is advantageous
- Fluency in English both written and spoken
