PROCUREMENT LIAISON OFFICER (fixed term contract until January 2023)

Scope of Position:

This position is responsible for supporting Qatar Global Sports Event 2022's ongoing Procurement & Logistics projects. The Procurement Liaison Officer will be working closely with the team members and the main client, to ensure that all project requirements, deadlines, and schedules are on track. Responsibilities include data analysis and submitting deliverables.

Summary of Responsibilities:

- While gathering data from internal stakeholders, he/she must run own evaluation to understand if the proposed recommendation (for the client's endorsement) carries relevant analysis and is supported with detailed research and thorough official communication, based on the framework that will be provided.
- Works closely with the team, the project's Finance department, the main client and other stakeholders.
- Responsible for project planning and remaining on track on deadlines.
- Provides clear lines of compliance.
- Proactive identification of any potential risks that may arise.
- Provides in-depth research analytical support in a variety of procurement activities.
- Develops and executes procurement strategies that are designed to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize cost.
- Develops & maintains effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, manages category vendor performance.
- Oversees that the Document Control is recorded correctly.
- Create contingency plans
- Develops forms and procedures to facilitate effective and efficient purchasing throughout the department.
- Records, reviews and interprets data to determine the effectiveness of operations.
- Budget preparation and management

Requirements

Qualifications:

- At least 3 years of experience in a similar position
- Must be excellent with data analytics & numbers
- Data Analytics or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is plus
- Experience in working on complex projects, creating solutions and delivering value for the business
- Used to working in a fast-paced environment needing decisive problem-solving, and the ability to work well under pressure
- Commercially aware.
- Good stakeholder relations - both internal and external
- Excellent presentation, collaboration and verbal and written skills
- Fluent in English (spoken and written), any additional language is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft excel and Word
