The post holder will be responsible for managing key General Hospitals Group (GHG) business activities and assigned programmes of work / projects from initiation and development through to execution and follow up. Key activities will include:
- Project Management - project lead as directed, utilising MS project (or similar project planning methodology), and tracking progress to delivery
- Research, Investigation, Exploration - Data analysis & review, report development & production, presentation development & droduction
- Policy Analysis – critiquing key national, organisational and Group policies, making recommendations where appropriate
- General Business Support - Performance Management, Strategy & Planning
- Representing the GHG in external and external meetings

In executing these duties the post holder will be required to manage all appropriate resources (time, budget, manpower etc.) effectively.

The position requires the post holder to be able to act within practices and procedures which have clear precedents and / or operational guidance. All business activities may require the post holder to think ‘laterally’ requiring the identification and selection of solutions within the area of expertise and acquired knowledge.

Common Responsibilities:

Project Management
- Manages the day to day operational and tactical aspects of multiple or large scale General Hospitals Group or corporate strategic projects by:
- Monitoring project(s) progress throughout its duration
- Agreeing and managing resources for the project
- Reviewing high level deliverables across the project(s)
- Stakeholder management, including the internal and external resources
- executing effective communication plans
- Develops and establishes different project management documents (including the project charter, the project plan, the project closeout document, the lessons learned etc…) Research, Investigation, Exploration

Undertake key research, investigation and exploration activities in support of key group or corporate initiatives / projects by:
- Reviewing key performance data to identify current baseline information
- Sourcing, reviewing and identifying best practice through regional and international benchmarking
- Liaising with key internal departments and external stakeholders as required establish the appropriate evidence base

Policy Analysis
- Undertake key policy analysis activities in support of key group or corporate initiatives / projects by:
- Sourcing, reviewing and Identifying current guidance and policies
- Sourcing, reviewing and identifying best practice through regional and international literature
- Liaising with key internal departments and external stakeholders as required establish the appropriate evidence base

General Business Support
- Provides Business support to the Chief & AED of the General Hospitals Group across the entire Group portfolio, which includes:
- Managing the administrative delivery of key corporate priorities
- Manages the GHG Management Committee programme on behalf of the AED of General Hospitals Group, which will include:
- Coordinating the meetings, agenda and any papers
- Progressing / facilitating and managing the delivery of key work programmes identified by the GHG Management Committee
- Developing clinical and / or management strategies or plans required to deliver the GHG business priorities.
- Establishing and managing a Group ‘performance tracker’, to effectively manage progress on all

Group priorities.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Perform other duties as required.

Representing the GHG in external and external meetings
- Support the GHG in all external liaison activities relating to:
- Primary Health Care Corporation Liaison
- Corporate Projects e.g. Provision of health care at the New Doha International Airport

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in management, healthcare administration or a related field with a specialization in business preferred
- Masters degree in business, management, healthcare administration or related field is desirable
- Certification in project management is desirable
- 5+ years of business experience in complex:
- Public or commercial sector organisations; and/or
- A health care organisation
- 5+ years experience of managing large and multiple complex programmes of work

Language Skills:
- Must be fluent in English both written and verbal
- An understanding of Arabic is desirable

Computer Skills
- Must be proficient in the use and understanding of the following:
- MS Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint in particular) – Excellent proficiency
- MS Outlook - Excellent proficiency

- Ability to effectively communicate with strong communication skills
