Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Responsibilities include schedule preparation, pre-planning and resource forecasting for engineering and other technical activities relating to the project.
- Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; conferring with management.
- Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements; reviewing bids from contractors.
- Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates.
- Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements.
- Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
- Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions.
- Controls project costs by approving expenditures; administering contractor contracts.
- Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintains project data base by writing computer programs; entering and backing up data.
- Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
- Develop construction documents and specifications for a full range of site development and municipal civil engineering projects.
- Prepare site plan and subdivision review correspondence on behalf of Municipal Land Use Boards.
- Perform site investigations to assess and document field conditions.
- Develop site designs, including site layout, grading and storm drainage, roadway, and utility infrastructure.
- Prepare engineer's opinion of probable costs for designed projects and specifications for public bids.
- Effective utilization of resources for reducing the operational costs.
- Preparation and reviewing of method statements and work specific quality assurance manual.
- Compliance with corporate, health and safety management system. Preparation development and review of project health and safety plan.
- Provide a safe and healthy environment in the workplace. Achieve a ‘ZERO Incidents’ target.
- Supervise technicians, technologists and other engineer, calculation and cost estimates.

Requirements

- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Masters/ Post Graduate degree in Engineering or any professional certification is added advantage.
- Strong computer skills in AutoCAD and Primavera.
- Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices of related techniques.
- 10 - 12 years of relevant experience and previous experience in Qatar/ GCC is preferred.
- Bilingual is preferred.
