Due to continued success in the country we are now seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our already established team in Qatar.

To provide leadership and project direction on hospital/laboratory type projects. Full internal commercial performance of the project; reporting to the Project Director.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of hospital and laboratory projects, supported by a commercial/quantity surveying team, projects controls team and a construction management team. Responsible for the performance of the appointed contractor and sub-contractors and the overall quality of the finished product.

Direct liaison and relationship management with the client’s project director and commercial director.

Responsibilities:
- Health and safety of all staff deployed on site.
- Ensure that the contractors have appropriate method statements and risk assessments for every activity they perform.
- Management of the contractors in respect to QA/QC performance.
- The successful candidate will oversee all labour and subcontractors on site, and be responsible for the overall workmanship.
- Monitoring all work executed, at all stages, snagging of all works sign off responsibility of the finished product
- Working on Projects from inception to completion for example, taking client enquiry/suggestion, specifying and designing solution, producing pricing and proposal, liaising with client and taking order for project and ensuring delivery of project via the companies employees and subcontractors
- Ensure that project milestones and objectives are achieved and projects delivered on time and within budget
- Accountable day-to-day to the client, and internally our Project Manager
- Professional interface with other disciplines and the client’s representative
- Line management responsibility for a project team and indirectly for sub-contractors
- Ensuring implementation and compliance with the Faithful+Gould Business Management System
- Management of the commercial, project controls and site supervision teams
- Monitoring all work executed, at all stages, to ensure that an accurate and professional service is offered to clients
- Guidance of team members in technical and contractual obligations and duties
- To provide full efficient and effective services in all technical and contractual aspects of professional practice
- Service delivery to clients and act as primary interface, ensuring Faithful+Gould secure the client’s confidence

Requirements

- Project Management experience of construction sites, with hospitals and laboratories being essential.
- Degree holder in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering, from a reputable university
- Member of a professional project management institute
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant international project management experience
- Chartered Member of RICS, or similar institute
- Have a minimum of 3 years Middle East experience with Qatar experience as a preference
- Recent experience working on large construction projects in Qatar is essential
- The agreement of, and compliance with, established time frames
- Productive supervision of subordinates including adequate planning, monitoring and control
- Ability to manage a team on major/complex projects.
- Effective team control and building of team spirit/culture
- Management of resources on projects through collaboration with the Directors
- Retaining existing clients for further work and securing new clients
- Demonstrate an understanding of overall project requirements and the ability to advise client’s knowledgably on overall project management issues
- Demonstrate effective leadership and high commitment in order to achieve goals
- Excellent communications skills; including report writing and presentation skills
