Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The quality auditor is responsible for supervising the review and extraction of required information from medical records and other sources to support the generation of audit reports

Responsibilities:
- Supports process improvement by measurement of identified clinical processes
- Support measurement for Best Care Always
- Ensure measurement to allow learning from events and potential events
- Lead process analysis to identify potential improvements in patient safety
- Supervises the implementation of processes for extraction of required utilization parameters, clinical guideline monitoring data, clinical audit data and/or physician-specific metrics.
- Develops quality, utilization and clinical outcome flags, screens and indicators to identify potential over/under utilization of resources.
- Supervises the review of medical records to extract utilization patterns and relevant medical information to support clinical guideline development, clinical audit activities or physician profiling programs.
- To maintain up to date and accurate records of quality improvement and audit activity
- Supervises and participates in the generation of daily, weekly and monthly internal and external utilization, clinical guideline and/or physician profiling reports.
- Supervises the proper application of data collection and analysis techniques for evaluating utilization of various clinical and non-clinical services.
- Supervises and coordinates the work of quality audit reviewers and provides education and training to enhance their performance.
- Support and contribute to the development of clinical benchmarking
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the Head of Quality Improvement.
- Auditing against accreditation standards

Communication and Working Relationships:
- Foster good communication and teamwork relationships between and within the hospital departments
- Develop working partnership networks with individuals, groups, and medical staff

The post holder must at all times: Work with the HMC code of professional conduct and disciplinary procedure

Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 6 years experience of which 3 years experience in healthcare utilization review, case management or clinical guideline development or quality audit

Language Skill: Excellent Command over English, Arabic preferred.

Key Competencies:
- Integrated knowledge and understanding of utilization review and case management concepts, practices, systems, and procedures.
- Advanced data analysis and medical record coding.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment
