Quantity Surveyors / Cost Managers (Qatar)

Currie & Brown have a range of opportunities within the Middle East region and are currently seeking all grades of Cost Managers/ Quantity Surveyors to work on various prestigious projects in the Qatar.

We are looking for well-rounded individuals with experience of providing PQS services to a wide range of clients in a variety of sectors including Residential, Retail, Commercial, Healthcare and Education; taking full responsibilities for the projects delivery.

Responsibilities for successful candidates will include:
- Providing accurate cost advice and reporting to our clients.
- Delivering projects, commissions and professional assignments.
- Assuming a leading role in setting objectives and priorities, working as a proactive team player.
- Maintaining effective communication to ensure all information is available for the successful completion of projects; liaising with other managers to ensure efficient financial control.
- Undertaking commercial management services with limited supervision.
- Delivering all work outputs in an accurately and timely manner.
- Providing support to the team leader/service leaders in cost management of projects.
- Representing the company in a professional and diligent manner; meeting, negotiating and corresponding with clients to form strong working relationships in a true partnership.

Requirements

The successful candidate will be supporting project leaders in generating a high standard of service delivery, achieving successful outcomes for our clients, capturing and sharing knowledge across projects, enhancing our culture of innovation and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred service provider.

In the various roles we have across the region, the focus will be on professional work across a wide variety of selected projects, so experience of traditional, design and build procurement, as well as pre and post contract quantity surveying is necessary.

Applicants will be required to demonstrate appropriate delivery experience, showing high levels of technical ability, commercial knowledge, key drivers of cost and value and an ambition for personal development and team excellence.

This will be an extremely rewarding role working for a company with excellent growth plans in the Middle East.

- Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar technical discipline.
- Membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) or en-route (APC).
- Middle East experience will be ideal but not essential.
- Minimum of 5 years progressively responsible experience in a Consultancy environment (PQS).
- Pre and/or Post Contract experience.
- Excellent customer service, communication and client/external interface skills
- Well organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, well disciplined and commercially astute.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills both written and verbal.
- A track record of working with teams and managing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering to deadlines.
