Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

General Description:
- This position shall provide Risk Management support to the Risk Manager in terms of the delivery of a Project(s).
- Responsible for assisting with the overall management of a comprehensive corporate risk management/insurance program with a concentration on risk identification, risk transfer, and risk retention techniques.
- Coordinates closely with operations/project management, safety, human resources, legal, and estimating while implementing risk management policies and procedures to protect the company's assets and minimize liability exposures.
- Draft, review or recommend any engineering-related documents as required.
- Provide progress reports as and when required.
- Attendance at relevant meetings.

Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure and review that the Project Risk Management plans and procedures are effectively implemented.
- Coordinate all aspects of contract review as relates to insurance and bonds issues, including coordination of contract review with legal.
- Analyse and understand insurable risks and potential risk mitigation opportunities. interact with operational groups to ensure coordination between project activities, exposures, and appropriate insurance coverage.
- Manage day-to-day interaction between all project stakeholders/participants, brokers, and insurers related to risk management and insurance issues.
- Review and initiate the appropriate insurance coverage and pricing for all new bids and projects.
- Work with client/owner insurance representatives to ensure proper placement and coordination of any project-specific insurance policies.
- Lead communication efforts with broker and surety company to facilitate timely delivery of project-specific performance and payment bonds.
- Assist with managing the Consultant’s Risk program, including reporting, treatment plans, and premium allocations.
- Review and analyze terms and conditions associated with proposed Controlled Insurance Programs. function as the liaison between all participants.
- Assist with the management of the corporate Sub-contractor Default Insurance program including coordination with internal teams, external sales discussions, and management of broker and insurer relationships.
- Oversee internal claim management efforts (workers' compensation, general liability, automobile liability, builders risk) to include oversight of third-party administrators, insurers, and defense attorneys.
- Review and analyze loss control and trending reports, and coordinate with Safety to develop appropriate action plans.
- Carry out risk assessments as required and analyze and evaluate identified of risks.
- Maintain knowledge of trends in the construction insurance industry, including thorough working knowledge of insurance products, coverage, and pricing.
- Assist with budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, including the analysis of annual insurance premiums, the financial performance of insurance programs, and the determination of billing rates and premium allocations.
- Assist with internal communication and advertising strategies related to all risk management initiatives.
- Provide regular progress reports including reviewing and verifying project risks and treatment data on monthly basis.

Requirements

Required Skills and Competencies:
- Minimum of 10 years post-graduate experience with experience in major infrastructure projects or programs. preference will be given to roads, aviation, structures, or rail-related experience.
- Demonstrable history in the delivery of large multidisciplinary projects.
- In-depth knowledge of project controls/risk management procedures.
- Technically proficient in all aspects of project controls/risk management such as QRA’s (Quantitative Risk Assessment) to manage Programme and Project(s) schedule & cost outturns, risk workshops, planning, analysis, and managing risk processes.
- Effective in building good working relationships within complex structures, both internally and with various project stakeholders.

Mandatory Requirements:
- University degree from a recognized university in an appropriate field such as Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, or equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken
- In-depth knowledge and experience of government procedures.
- Client-side experience

Desirable requirements
- Evidence of suitable professional qualification PMI-RMP or equivalent is preferable.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Arabic language skills.
- Experience working in Qatar and/or the Gulf region
- Experience of working with Risk related software such as ARM (Active Risk Manager), Risk Ware, etc.
