Job description / Role
Works as part of a team responsible for managing ITS systems across a complex roads network. Will be working under the supervision of a Team Leader.
Will be proactive in managing the roads network through applying approved processes and procedures.
Use of various ITS Traffic Management systems and information services in order to monitor and manage the Roads Network in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with agreed policies.
Capable of creating and maintaining a positive, professional and trusting working relationship with colleagues and high profile stakeholders.
Requirements
Roles & Responsibilities
- Follow the Policy, Process and Procedures applicable to the role.
- Operate complex Road Management ITS systems.
- Deliver tasked operator functional roles.
- Monitor the Roads Network Area assigned.
- Escalate issues to the appropriate RNMC Team Leader.
- Deal with Stakeholders in a positive and sensitive manner.
- Functional Roles will include but are not limited to;
- Management and Operation of Traffic Signals and other ITS.
- Incident Management.
- CCTV Monitoring.
- Message sign setting.
- Managing Road Closures and Traffic Diversions
- Providing real time Traffic Information.
- Liaising closely with internal and external teams to share information
- Operational support of Major Events.
- Operational support of Abnormal Loads/Hazardous Loads.
- Weather Monitoring and Extreme Weather Management.
- Congestion Monitoring and Roads Network Optimisation.
- Tunnels Operation and Management.
