Senior / Chief Accountant

Job description / Role

A french multi-national with operations in Qatar and Dubai within the GCC is looking for a Senior/Chief Accountant to join their team in Qatar. Overall responsibility to manage independently accounts up to finalization stage, preparing product costing, managing receivables and customer pricing, supporting local management and group with financial information & reporting and ensuring adequate internal control for a new Qatar Joint Venture.

This position reports to the Managing Director of the JV and functionally to the finance manager in the UAE. It will involve co-ordination and team work with the Finance Team at Head Office.

Requirements

Strong technical skills in accounting coupled with analytical skills, communication skills, ability to handle conflicts, excellent knowledge of spread sheets, customer service and problem solving and interpersonal skills. Should be able to work independently.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Business or other relevant degree
- ACCA/ACMA/ACA or equivalent professional accounting qualification (3+ years PQE)

Experience:
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in handling accounts upto finalization, reporting and administration. Experience running the finance function of a trading entity would be ideal.
