Senior Contracts Manager

Job description / Role

Client is an international consultant working on a Multi-faceted transportation project that will be part of a wider growth of the city. This will be one of the the biggest project of its kind in the region.

The role will be as Contracts Manager will be responsible for the delivery of a major and multi-faceted transportation scheme whilst managing key areas of risk and applying excellent contractual and commercial practices.

The contracts manager will be responsible for developing the procurement strategy in a public environment and will lead all contractual discussions, advising the client on the most suitable strategy and implementation approach. Coordination with key technical functions will be necessary to succeed in this position.

This will be a client facing role and the successful candiate will come from a consulting background where they will have a proven track record of successfully delivering on a large scale infrastructure project.

With an excellent track record of as a Contracts Manager with major infrastructure schemes. You will be looking to take up this key role on one a challenging and iconic transportation scheme that will be the largest in the region and integrate multiple transportation methods. The appropriate candidate must be capable of engaging with high level government officials and be capable of presenting at the highest government levels.

Requirements

* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering, from an internationally recognized institute.
* 20+ years of post graduate experience
* Expert knowledge of relevant forms of contract with FIDIC experience essential.
* At least 10 years experience in drafting Pre-Qualification and Tender Documents
* Demonstrate ability to lead on all contractual aspects while working within a wider programme team.
* Working for or previously worked with an internationally recognized consultancy.
* Experience in multibillion dollar transportation or infrastructure programmes or projects
* Ability to understand technical requirements and feed into a coherent and logical contract document.
* Chartered by internationally recognized institution
* Excellent communications skills
* Arabic speaker is nice to have as is previous experience in the Middle East
