Our client is a global Property Development firm who are world renowned for the development of iconic mega projects worldwide. Their key project is a city project that extends across 38 square kilometres and includes four exclusive islands and 19 multi-purpose residential, mixed use, entertainment and commercial districts. This is a comprehensive arena of leisure spots, residential buildings, commercial towers, avenues and public ports. This city will accommodate 200,000 residents and 170,000 employees and 80,000 visitors. They now seek to recruit a Senior Cost Control Engineer to control and manage the project costs and supports the project team in all commercial matters of the project. This role sits within the Contracts and Project Control Division.

Reporting to the Cost Control Manager, this role is responsible to:
- Manage independent Quantity Surveying consultants delegated to projects in the delivery of all items as per consultant SOW and roles.
- Review and manages QS’s in processing of payment applications in order to ensure timely certification of reasonable payments.
- Analyse and recommend costs for TQ’s, VOR’s, EOT and any other cost claims from consultants and contractors for changes or additional works.
- Measure quantities and work required from drawings, sketches and other documents as required.
- Liaise with experts, contract administration and procurement team to define costs and prices of work.
- Review commercial and contractual processes of the project and support the continuous development in contractual and commercial awareness among the project team.
- Prepare reports to management in respect of measures and prices of actually performed construction work with the work and schedule described in the contract and with approved budgets.
- Clarification of discrepancies identified during the comparison.
- Providing support to Project Managers with a view to optimise commercially acceptable resolutions to claims or mitigation of potential claims.
- Participates in development of management procedures and technical tools for meeting program, cost and quality targets.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant company systems throughout the bidding and project execution process.

Requirements

- Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Quantity Surveying / Construction Management with a minimum of 12 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying with experience with Tier 1 contractor or consultants being preferable.
- Preparation and analysis of cost related reports and provide comprehensive reports to management.
- The communicator we seek will possess strong interpersonal skills, a multi tasker, be commercially savvy and have a strong attention to detail..
- Excellent knowledge in MS office with proficiency in specialised software being an advantage.
- Fluent in English, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
- GCC experience on large interdisciplinary projects is a must.
- Experience in expatriate environment is highly desirable.
