Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Senior Credit Analyst - Wholesale credit will be responsible to obtain credit and financial information on assigned large Corporate Borrowers and Groups and provide insightful and comprehensive credit analysis reports.

Client Details: Large local bank

The Senior Credit Analyst - Wholesale credit in Qatar will have the following responsibilities:
* Provide consistent, timely and accurate credit/project/real estate and equity investment analysis and research to Senior Management and the Executive Credit Committee.
* Provide monitoring and analysis of Financial Institutions and Country Risk. Analyse customers' financial performance, credit worthiness, risk profile and business potential.
* Review exception reports and monitor ongoing business and potential deterioration in credit quality as part of due diligence.
* Update financial spreads and Risk Ratings with recently received information.
* Track customer credit needs and credit quality.
* Provide due diligence and research support through data-mining and data validation from external sources on both new and existing borrowers.
* Develop complex credit proposals including structured finance, real estate and syndicated loans.
* Prepare financial projections.
* Check QCB reports and Credit Bureau reports as part of due diligence.
* Supervise and mentor Junior Credit Analysts.
* To maintain and enhance the credit analysis and control and develop the banks' KYC capabilities.
* Interact with customers (i.e. RMs) in obtaining information and help maintain customer service levels on turnaround time.

Requirements

* University Graduate in Finance / Accounting / Commerce or other relevant numerate subject.
* Credit training in a reputable financial institution
* 5-6 years' experience in similar role and 6 years in a banking/finance environment.
* Good Knowledge of banking processes and products
* Good knowledge of banking industry, credit function and regulatory guidelines
* Very good computer skills, particularly Excel and internet search.
* Sound knowledge of lending practices / systems, credit policy, risk management, procedures, control procedures, understanding of legal issues related to lending
* Credit market awareness
* Good level of analytical skills
