Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Key Responsibilities (Not a complete list)
• Provide support to the Area Delivery Managers where required upon Design
• Develops a cost-effective plan and schedule for completion of project following logical pattern for utilization of resources
• Selects and coordinates work of stakeholders working on various phases of the project
• Oversees performance of all trade Consultants and reviews architectural and engineering drawings to make sure that all specifications and regulations are being followed
• Responsible for overseeing the administration of construction contracts and ensuring all necessary permits and licenses are obtained
• Supervises design managers, reviews their reports, checks on any reported difficulties, and corrects any safety violations or other reported deficiencies
• Tracks and controls construction schedule and associated costs to achieve completion of project within time and monies allocated
• Reports to senior officials and architects about progress and any necessary modifications of plans that seem indicated
• Provide regular progress reports and elevate issues to the Authority
• Manage and review performance of various consultants and contractors in terms of design
• Review and recommend upon various designs throughout the lifetime of a project
• Apply international design standards across various projects

Requirements

• University degree from a recognized university in an appropriate field such as Engineering or Architecture or equivalent
• Minimum of 15 years post graduate experience with experience in major infrastructure projects or programmes; preference will be given to roads, aviation, structures or rail related experience
• Experience of technical reviews
• Experienced and technically excellent in design coordination
• Experience of technical design software
• A “rounded profile”, with experience of leading multidisciplinary design teams (the successful candidate will also be able to mobilize people and teams and by their leadership skills lead teams and secure successful deliverables)
• Demonstrable track record in the delivery of large multidisciplinary projects
• Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken
• Driver’s License
