Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Senior Distribution Control Systems Technician (DCS) (Offshore based 28 days on and 28 days off rotation.

- Responsible for the safe operation and functionality of Integrated Control Systems (ICS) Invensys / Emerson & Process Safety Systems (PSS) Triconex deployed at the Qatargas Offshore facilities.
- Maintain the Control Systems and safety system at optimum performance periodic system monitoring and analysis.
- Provide support to Offshore Instrument team in maintaining Offshore Control Systems.
- Rectifies any problems identified in the Control Systems through on-line and shutdown maintenance.
- Develop, implement and document modifications to Control Systems and Control schemes through Minor Modification procedures.
- Develop improvements in Plant Information system through enhanced reports, archives and monitor the alarm management in daily basis.
- Maintain proper backups of all system software and control software as per the Backup policy.
- Support upgrade and maintain "Hot spares to test and prove hardware module and software schemes to facilitate reliable control system maintenance.
- Participate in commissioning of control systems prior to plant start up.
- Record all software and control scheme changes through documentation and schematics, which will be utilized to update the various control scenarios.
- Participate to test control scheme enhancements in conjunction with Process Engineers & Engineering team.

Requirements

Completion of HND in Electrical or Instrumentation engineering, and a minimum of 6 to 8 years direct maintenance experience, including 2 years at Supervisor level within oil and gas industry.

6 to 8 years' Multi disciplines experience in the maintenance of Electrical / instrumentation and control systems (DCS, Triconix shutdown systems) including fault finding and repair of a variety of electronic and pneumatic devices, familiarity with control valve repairs and calibration, Power generation, LV and HV Transformers maintenance, LV and HV motors maintenance, contactors, circuit breakers etc. Very good written and spoken English.
