Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Job Purpose
• Maintain environmental compliance and waste management programs in accordance with applicable environmental regulatory requirements for Projects and Company operations.

Job Context & Major Challenge(s)
• Works with 3rd party service providers to deliver quality environmental permit application and supporting documentation for issuance of permit in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with multiple stakeholders planning and execution of environmental programs with planned timeframe in compliance with Company policies and procedures.

Key Job Accountabilities
• Administer environmental permitting, compliance and sustainability, and provides technical expertise in the development of new processes, techniques and regulations.
• Ensures implementation of environmental compliance assessments programs for the department.
• Works with Operations and Engineering Groups to rectify compliance issues and resolves regulatory matters.
• Contributes in developing environmental and sustainability policies and resolution of complex problems having significant environmental impact.
• Provides input and support to Corporate Planning on Green House Gas (GHG)/ flaring strategy and GHG/ flaring data for update of corporate KPIs as required.
• Develops environmental compliance registers and maintains in line with local and international environmental requirements.
• Support the Company on applications to Government regulatory authorities for environmental and waste management matters requiring regulatory approval.
• Advise projects on good waste management practices and implement 3R practices on projects sites.
• Assist in project environmental studies including Environmental Baseline Assessment (EBA), Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), marine surveys and other environmental studies as required by the regulators.
• Participate in submission and renewal of Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) environmental permits for Qatargas operating facilities and projects.
• Coordinate environmental risk assessment, support Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) and Environmental Impact Identification (ENVID) studies and ensure environmental risks are adequately monitored for management

Requirements

Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Science.

Knowledge and/or Experience
• 8 years’ experience in a world class organization with preference for oil and gas, process or petrochemical industries including at least 3 years’ in environmental management.
• International environmental standards and regulations, best practice management.
• Strong environmental project experience in Oil & Gas industry.

Technical and Business Skills
• Advanced technical expertise in environmental regulations and permitting.
• Advanced technical expertise in developing sustainability policy and environmental management system.
• Excellent in written and spoken English.
• Computer literacy (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
