Senior Maintenance Technician - Fire & Safety

Job description / Role

- Assists Engineer – Fire System Maintenance in ensuring compliance with Fire Systems standards through execution of regular Inspection and Maintenance programs to monitor the effectiveness with which the Fire Protection & Fire Fighting Equipment and Systems are functioning, in accordance with the Kahramaa strategic defence plan and threat risk assessment to ensure their effective maintenance, as per requirement
- Oversees and helps with conduct of Inspections to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with Kahramaa code of practice and also ensure that they are well maintained
- Diagnoses malfunctioning Fire Safety Systems/equipment, apparatus and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
- Oversees troubleshooting of Fire System problems or resolves queries that arise during Maintenance and repair of Fire Protection & Fire Fighting Equipment/Systems and provides relevant advice to concerned personnel on protecting the assets/premises on Kahramaa and control unforeseen damages
- Supervises & conducts periodic maintenance checks of all Fire Protection & Fire Fighting Equipment as per schedule
- Assists Engineer – Fire System Maintenance in making annual budget related to Fire Safety Maintenance
- Assists Engineer – Fire System Maintenance in preparation of tender contract documents & scope of works, tender technical evaluation and new project commissioning related to Fire Systems Maintenance
- Works in cooperation with Quality Assurance and Continual Improvement department on securing and maintaining the ISO 9002 certification
- Carries out and ensures the compliance of all activities within the Facilities Management Department are in-line with Kahramaa health and safety regulations

Requirements

- Diploma of Associate Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Chemical & Industrial)
- Certifications in Fire Protection and Safety is preferred
- Driving licence
- More than 8 years of relevant experience in a similar industry and/or position with minimum 2 years of relevant supervisory experience preferably in the area of Fire Systems Operations
