Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our client is a leading service provider to oil & gas industry in the state of Qatar, the company’s fully equipped modern workshop produces repairs and manufacture components to meet stringent quality assurance standards. Their facilities include Machine Shop, Welding & Fabrication Shop, Electrical Shop and Mechanical Shop. They are seeking to recruit highly qualified Production Head to lead their fabrication, maintenance & other oilfield services operations.

This senior role is grade 10 and reports to the company general manager, the incumbent will be in charge of manufacturing & fabrication facilities where he needs to lead SQCD (Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery) of orders to customers as well as leading the changes in the department to achieve international manufacturing standards, people development (350 personnel) and secure growth.

Accordingly, the job holder needs to:
- Lead the daily activities in workshops and maintenance in accordance with Customers Orders and delivery plans
- Ensure reliability of equipment performance in line with contract specified targets
- Ensure compliance of workshop management in regards of on time and quality use of ERP system.
- Actively participate in solving problems activities with all departments to reach company targets.
- Establish & continuously improve all systems, processes and procedures to enhance machines, tools and personnel performances. Define and deploy systematic Production Indicators to keep macro and micro control views on Production efficiency in SQCD matters.
- Apply basic and professional industrial tools such as (but not limited to) SS/ SMED / Kamban / OEE/ PDCA / Visual Management / Lean / Six sigma
- Lead with Charisma and determination the teams through daily briefings to Ensure reaching both daily operations targets as well as improvements targets
- Define / Communicate / Follow up clear targets to its team members
- Maintain awareness of equipment technological developments through appropriate means. Liaise with contract resources engaged in the review of equipment criticality, development of maintenance strategies, and review of equipment spares needs
- Lead expansion and/or re-organization projects in workshops as per strategy targets in coordination with management
- Participate to budget establishment and propose with relevant studies and ROI analysis new investments to come.
- Deal externally with customers, suppliers & third Party inspection agencies.
- Provide expert advice required during periods of critical emergency manufacturing intervention.

Requirements

- Have bachelor degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent gained from reputable university
- Have at least 15 years of work experience out of which at 7 years as production or operation manager within mechanical field.
- Have relevant equipment maintenance trainings by various OEM, Black Belt or equivalent.
- Possess a comprehensive knowledge of machine tools uses in the field such as CNC, Lathes, Oil Country Hollow Spindle Lathes, Vertical & Horizontal Borers, Universal Milling Machines, Tool & Cutter Grinders, Cylindrical & Vertical Grinders, Computerized Torque Turn Make-up units, Swage press etc…
- Possess the capability of undertake major analysis of equipment histories, and maintain within the section comprehensive statistical and technical data of machinery performance
- Possess the capability to control schedule of diagnostic surveying and performance evaluation by directing on-site investigations, which involve using specialist technical equipment such as horoscopes, alignment telescopes, and vibration analysis etc……
- Possess commercial acumen and a record of confidence dealing with middle managers through to decision makers.
- Should demonstrate technical, commercial and professional expertise to do the job effectively.
- Computer literate including ERP system and other related software.
- Possess excellent team-work and problem solving
- Possess excellent people skills and leadership
- Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal & written
- Possess excellent clients’ relationship and clients’ management
- Should be quality and task oriented with focus on small details and accuracy.
- Attention to health & safety as per standard regulations.
