Senior Manager Regulatory Affairs - Qatar Airways - Doha

Reporting to the Vice President Regulatory Affairs, this Senior Manager Regulatory Affairs role will be based within our head office operations in Doha, Qatar.

This position is a key role within our fast paced Flight Operations Division. The overall purpose of the position will be to ensure the safety and quality, of Qatar Airways Flight Operations, through and in compliance with local and International regulations and requirements. Achieving this will involve working in close partnership with the QCAA and various other global governing bodies.

Accountabilities of the role will include:
- Ensuring operational compliance with all applicable operational regulatory requirements.
- Interpreting all new regulations and subsequently delegate/prepare new policies and procedures to ensure Flight Operations compliance
- Liaise with IATA for matters related to IOSA audit cycle.
- Regular updates with other internal departmental Heads for the preparation of IOSA and ensure compliance with the audits.
- Keep abreast with international legislation, guidelines and practices related to aviation industry.
- File and maintain Host Country Foreign Air Operations Certification.
- Collection and validation of aircraft documentation for submission to the Host Country Regulator
- Manage projects relating to changes in operating type procedures, processes or introduction of new facilities.
- Management responsibilities - 4 staff members

Requirements

- Ideally the preferred candidate shall be a Senior Captain holding or having a type rating for an aircraft operated by Qatar Airways. However strong applicants with relevant Regulatory profiles shall be considered from other areas.
- Minimum 5 years of job-related experience required
- Work experience in airline Management positions either within Qatar Airways or a comparable airline.
- Associate degree, Trade or Vocational qualification - minimum
- Comprehensive knowledge of QCAA, JAR and International Regulations.
- Strong knowledge of aviation regulations, requirements and procedures (e.g. QCAR, JAR, FAR, IATA, ICAO … etc).
- Knowledge of Safety Standards and Practices and familiarity with Quality Systems.
- Sound knowledge of International Organizations requirements (IATA, ICAO, etc.).
- Strong command of spoken and written English language are essential
- Project management skills.
- Proven leadership abilities are a must
