Senior Manager Technology Infrastructure - Hamad International Airport - Doha

In this role your key responsibilities include preparing and updating medium to long term strategies for IT infrastructure at the Airport, including Wired/Wireless Networks, Storage, Servers, Access Control, Visual Surveillance (CCTV), Data Centre technologies.

You must ensure that Infrastructure Design, Capacity Planning, Availability Planning, IT Service Continuity, Change Management and Supplier Management procedures are in place to achieve operational stability and business growth needs of the airport.

You will ensure that separate production and development/test environments are maintained; formulate and implement strategy and be accountable for high-availability for Technology infrastructure and services for the airport.

You will ensure that TCO (total cost of ownership) for the infrastructure is competitive with industry benchmarks and the infrastructure is guarded against technology obsolescence.

You must oversee effective deployment of security technologies, including regimes for implementing security and operating system patches, to safeguard corporate information against internal and external threats.

You will constantly focus on exploring new technology areas, assess their benefits for the airport and introduce beneficial new technology based on sound business cases.

You will ensure that IT operations and service management are in accordance with reference industry standards such as ITIL, ISO-20000 and ISO-27001. Ensure that airport IT infrastructure is standardized for cost efficiency and economies of scale advantages in terms of procurement and operational/support cost.

You will negotiate and establish partnership with key vendors to improve delivery times, product stability and cost benefits. You will be responsible for providing necessary statistics to the management and purchase department in revising the supplier contracts. You must ensure that all infrastructure software platforms are optimized for usage of licenses, contract ownership and execution to achieve the best possible ROI for airport.

You will be responsible for minimizing negative impact on the business and for ensuring efficient and timely root cause analysis to avoid recurrence of incidents. You will be responsible for preparing annual budget of Technology Infrastructure based on business and operational requirements, capacity planning and technology adoption/refresh. You will be accountable for high availability and safe operation of data centers and communications rooms at the airport, including maintaining adequate mechanical & electrical capacity and implementation of physical access controls.

You must effectively plan, develop and manage technical expertise within the team to meet departmental objectives and to provide highest level of service to all stakeholders. You must manage the development, design, maintenance and documentation of all technology products. Manage and deploy Open Source Technologies where adequate support is available to reduce the total cost of ownership.

Lead and develop the teams to enhance internal competency and reduce external vendor dependency. Perform other department duties related to the role, as directed by the head of the department

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must hold at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / Information Systems / Engineering discipline, from an accredited university. Master’s degree will be an additional advantage.

You should have minimum five years’ experience at a senior level in management of infrastructure technologies, complex/large networks and data center operations, ideally as the head of IT infrastructure at large airport or similar complex and operationally critical environment. You must have minimum 15 years of experience in designing and implementing IT Technologies with experience of migrating IT services across data centers.

Candidates who have been primarily in IT consultation/advisory/governance roles in the recent years will not be considered for this highly operational and hands-on role.
