Senior Navigation Planning Specialist - Qatar Airways - Doha

In this role you will be supporting the Manager Navigation Planning in identifying and driving initiatives for continuous improvement within the area of responsibility. You will be responsible for managing, planning and co-ordinating route study analysis, aerodrome studies, ad-hoc operations including but not limited to matters relating to safe and efficient flight operations.

You will be expected to maintain and develop relationships with industry partners and external agencies in relation to route study evaluations and provide detailed analysis and recommendations to support Corporate Planning decision making processes.

You will be expected to present detailed reports and briefings to senior management in relation to current or proposed activities pertaining to route network development. You will be required to undertake route study evaluations, risk assessments and participate in technical visits for new aircraft types, airports and city pairs.

Your scope of work also includes handling projects with commercial sensitivity related to new fleet types and network expansion. Under the direction of the Manager Navigation Planning you will be expected to deliver the departmental objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives. This role is essential to support the ongoing growth of the airline and to train and develop other employees for proper succession planning and risk management. A proven influential and consultative approach, solution focus, and strong negotiation skills will be paramount.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor Degree or equivalent with a current holder of flight dispatcher license/certificate or ATC License. This position essentially requires you to have minimum of 7 years of work experience within Airline Flight Operations environment related to Navigation activities and you should have comprehensive knowledge and understanding in the field of Navigation related subjects, Operational Manual OM Part C, Risk Assessment, Aeronautical Information Publications (AIP) and the use of computerised flight planning software, preferably LIDO OC.

You will demonstrate at all times the importance of upholding the highest personal and professional standard and to have positive and passionate attitude towards industry stakeholders and foster teamwork among team members. Previous experience in developing technical manuals and in participating in technical visit/audits to aerodromes will be an added advantage.

You should have proficiency in MS office & Project Management Skills and should have the ability to develop and clearly present the objectives of the project. Proven influential and consultative approach, solution focus, and strong negotiation skills will be paramount. You must also possess excellent communication and analytical skills and experience of leading, managing, inspiring and engaging a large multi-cultural workforce is very much needed in this role.
