Employment: Full Time

- Lead and supervise the routine and non-routine activities of the Employee Relations team to address employee related issues.
- Qatargas workforce is a multi-national and multi-cultural environment; this requires constant establishing and developing of effective work relations. Work is performed in a wide range of settings. Work can be irregular and unpredictable and can be stressful at times.
- Ability to analyze complex situations, interpret regulations, policies and procedures and synthesize relevant data from a variety of sources into a formal report with realistic recommendations for actions.
- Ability to analyze information gathered for the purposes of developing recommendations and/or making decisions, which is integral to ensuring the Qatargas Covenants are maintained as well as and the credibility of the function.
- Social perceptiveness and the awareness of others’ reactions and understanding why they react as they do. Comfortable in and sensitive to the dynamics pertaining to a multi-cultural environment.
- Ensures the application of policies relating to working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary, grievance and absence management. Monitors the application of the Qatargas Covenants promoting fairness, equity and diversity as part of the culture of the Company.
- Works closely with departments in assisting line managers and supervisors to understand and implement HR policies and procedures. Coaches and consults with supervisors on appropriate actions and strategies relating to ensuring employee discipline, explaining applicable policies and procedures, how to communicate with and counsel employees in specific contexts and on the proper methods of disciplining and discharging employees.
- Coordinates with the Legal Department in the analysis of complex cases and in determining next steps and represents the Company at external personnel-related tribunals, hearings and investigations. Follows up with Court authorities on matters relating to individual employees.
- Supervises and investigates grievances, harassment, absence and disciplinary cases; conducts effective interviews of concerned parties, extracts pertinent information, and produces the necessary investigation reports with recommendations. Ensures effective dispute resolution and the promotion of good working relationships.
- Implements the outcome of investigation reports, including the issue of warning letters and contract termination notices.
- Gathers and analyses trends emerging from employee surveys, town hall meetings, visit reports, audit investigation findings and exit interviews which may impact morale, motivation, security and efficiency in the workplace.
- Liaise with the Chief Medical Officer on employee cases with a medical dimension and follows up on sick leaves and employees’ medical cases, including recommendation for termination of contract on medical grounds.
- Liaise with employees and/or their families in event of mishaps, accidents or fatalities to ensure availability of appropriate, timely support and follow up with Insurance Division and associated agencies on necessary insurance-related payments to employees and their families.
- Maintains comprehensive and confidential case records. Composes and issues statistical reports, warnings and advisories as required by the situation.

Requirements

- Minimum 8 years’ experience in relevant positions including at least 3 years in a supervisory position.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or equivalent degree.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Power Point).
- Experience in employee relations, training, engagement and facilitating meetings is preferred.
- Excellent written & spoken English.
- Very good personnel skills with the ability to communicate to all levels.
- Coaching & Dispute Resolution.
- Negotiation and influencing.
