Senior Quality Assurance Specialist (QF R&D)

Job description / Role

- Act as the technical authority for HSSE Quality Assurance (QA) codes, standards and requirements in QF R&D
- Ensure that an appropriate HSSE QA plan, the scope of which includes all the systems and activities that affect performance and quality, is established and implemented
- Ensure that HSSE QA processes in QF R&D meet international and national standards
- Oversee the procedure and process for development of QF R&D technical and administrative procedures related to HSSE
- Ensure that QF R&D complies with current requirements, standards, approved codes of practice and guidance related to HSSE
- Work proactively with HSSE and QF R&D staff to establish and maintain a system that promotes a culture of quality and compliant working practices across the organization
- Oversee calibration and testing activities
- Perform root-cause analysis and other problem solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements related to HSSE in R&D
- Verify that sub-contractors conducting activities, including providing items and services that affect or may affect safety, conduct work in accordance with QF R&D QA policy and criteria
- Verify procurement / acquisition processes satisfy HSSE QA requirements, including flowing down QA requirements as appropriate
- Provide a working interface and line of communication with other QF and QF R&D organizations and projects for QA matters
- Perform assessments, self-assessments, surveillances, and evaluations on a planned and periodic basis to verify the HSSE QA plan in QF R&D is being effectively implemented
- Establish and implement metrics for monitoring system effectiveness and to enable managers to make sound product quality decisions
- Identify performance deficiencies and opportunities for improvement, record observations in an issues management process for corrective action and continuous improvement
- Prepare quality assurance reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, corrective actions, and re-validations; identify early warning indicators and adverse trends
- Other reasonable tasks as assigned
- Comply with and enforce QF health, safety, and environment policies, procedures, legal regulations and objectives applicable to areas of responsibility to ensure that work is performed in a safe, healthy and environmentally-sound manner

Establish and implement procurement / acquisition processes to satisfy QA requirements, including flowing down requirements as appropriate based on:
- The relative importance to safety, security, environment or risk
- The magnitude of hazards involved
- The lifecycle stage and programmatic mission of the facility

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with 4 years’ experience in quality assurance systems implementation and management
- Experience working in a scientific or research oriented environment (Laboratory, University, or Medical Complex) is preferred
- Extensive knowledge of theory and principles of statistics
- General awareness of effective quality assurance management strategies, best management practice, inspection and control methods, techniques and documentation, etc.
- Very good writing skills and persuasive oral communication skills in English, preferably with Arabic proficiency
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
