Due to continued success in the Qatar we are now seeking to add a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an established professional team, committed to technical integrity, innovation and development of its people.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for taking the lead, setting the pace, and monitoring all work executed, at all stages to ensure that an accurate, professional and quality service is delivered to clients. Dealing with all aspects of cost management including leading a project team, client management and an integral member of our winning work team.

Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the Commercial Manager.
- Managing commercial aspects of commissions and/or projects including governance, fee management activities, together with internal job costings and resource requirements.
- Management of commercial and technical bid submissions under guidance of senior colleagues.
- Managing the client relationship and service delivery on a commission or project basis in conjunction with senior colleagues.
- Responsibility, under minimum supervision, for larger, more complex or challenging commissions or projects.
- Complying with the company’s commercial guidelines as they apply to your role.
- Controlling workload and resources.
- Developing key industry contacts.
- Responsible for the effective management of a team on major/complex commissions or projects.

Requirements

- Degree holder from an accredited western university
- Chartered Member of RICS
- Have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
- Have a minimum of 3 years Middle East experience with Qatar experience as a preference
- Experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor on large scale projects / programmes.
- Proven ability of working on large scale and complex projects; and produce quality works on time and within budget.
- Effective people management skills, including training and mentoring less experienced members of staff.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in respect of international contracts requirements as applicable to large scale construction contracts.
- Thorough understanding of construction forms and techniques including construction costs, and ability to knowledgably advise the client.
- Familiarity with contractual obligations, breaches and remedies.
- Competent knowledge of a range of procurement options available in the industry.
- General knowledge of current legal and regulatory developments in respect of construction and associated law.
- Have excellent communication and presentation skills in English (spoken and written)
- Be a team player and be able to work independently on own initiative
- Have excellent interpersonal skills
