Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

We are currently looking for a Senior Urban designer for our infrastructure project in Doha, Qatar.
• You will perform a variety of assignments such as conducting architectural studies, developing design concepts and design criteria, and preparing related reports.
• Reviews CAD drawings, renderings, layouts, study models, construction documents, and color boards prepared by Architectural Designers.
• Ensures compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements. Writes construction specifications and prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
• Interfaces with suppliers as required.
• Coordinates work with engineering and construction units at project site.
• Reviews, approves, and issues detailed design and construction drawings and specifications prepared by others.
• Provides the seal and signature of a professional architect when required by statute or contract.
• Provides technical guidance to Architectural Designer/Drafters working on the same project.
• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
• Liaise with City architects and master planners to update and improve the design regulations and design code on urban design aspects.
• Lead and / or co-collaborate in building permits processes update and improvement on urban design related parts
• Conduct necessary assessment and provide recommendations of building applications for mega development
• Liaise with other necessary authorities to facilitate the approval process
• Lead and coordinate with the team in technical reports preparation and implement best practices of architecture
• Engage in concept designs assessment team of mega scale development
• Handling the mega development processes management and coordination with internal and external relevant authorities to facilitate permitting and various related applications.

Salary:
QAR 25,000 to 32,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture (or equivalent) is required with 10+ years of relevant experience
• 10+ years of progressive experience in Architecture, or masters in urban design
• Demonstrate high level of proficiency in AutoCAD/ArchiCAD and other relevant graphic software
• Excellent level in English language
• Excellent skills in consultation, networking and communication
• Effective organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks
• Good skills in guidelines and regulation interpretation
• Excellent teamwork ability to operate in variety of field and office conditions, working in cross cultural setting
