Site Engineer/ Project (Construction) - Doha, Qatar

Our client a leading Grade A main contracting company who have been operating in Qatar for over 20 years. They have recently secured two major contracts and now urgently require Site Engineers & Project Engineers.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the performer we seek for this role will be responsible for the following:
- Acting as the day-to-day Site Engineer and on a range of the projects.
- Acting as the key source of technical advice and quality control for project related activities.
- Resolving technical issues with Contractors, Consultants and Statutory Authorities.
- Ensuring projects meet agreed specifications, budgets and timescales.
- Checking drawings and quantities and ensuring the accuracy of calculations.
- Providing regular progress reports (weekly and monthly) to the Project Architect/Project Manager.
- Overseeing the setting out of the works in accordance with the design drawings and specifications
- Managing and reporting on construction programmes and material procurement.
- Checking materials and work in progress for compliance with the design and construction programmes.
- Overseeing and coordinating all related safety requirements.
- Implementing Quality Control in accordance with method statements, quality plans and inspection and test plans, provided by Contractors or Suppliers.
- Liaising with the firm’s financial team regarding invoices, purchase orders and interim and final construction payments.
- Providing data in respect of variation orders, claims and site instructions.
- Preparing record drawings, technical reports, site diary entries.
- Coordinating with Facilities Management teams and other related Managers on site.
- As this role forms part of the extended Client team, there will be partial responsibility for security, health and safety, organising and supervising people, materials and logistics.
- Ensuring all design information pertaining to the projects is accurately executed in the field, in accordance with all related standards and specifications.

Requirements

- Degree in Construction, Engineering or comparable with a minimum of 5 years’ experience with a Tier 1 contracting firm . Experience in Qatar is essential.
- Able to work autonomously with demonstrated leadership and coordination experience.
- The communicator we see will have the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and deal with multiple entities in an organized manner
- Candidates must be bilingual in English and Arabic.
- Former expatriate experience is essential.
