Terminal Standards Supervisor - Hamad International Airport - Doha

Responsible for supervising the cleaning department within Hamad International Airport. Managing efficient and effective teams of outsourced cleaning staff and ensuring that a five star standard of cleaning services are provided for HIA at all times.

Cleaning Supervision:
- Ensure that a clean, safe and hygienic environment is provided at HIA at all times.
- Manage the outsourced cleaning teams and allocate cleaning tasks and responsibilities to ensure all cleaning is carried out in a safe, timely and efficient manner.
- Inspect cleaning contractors work for conformance to prescribed HIA standards of cleanliness.
- Supervise the delivery of regular supply of approved products and equipment by the outsourced cleaning contractor or other parties.
- Ensure good communication systems are in place to work in coordination with the Maintenance department and other member of the Operations team.
- Implement Hygiene & Safety guidelines and instructions and ensure they are followed.
- Obtain and supervise the appropriate use of equipment and chemicals for cleaning purposes.
- Investigate complaints regarding cleaning services and equipments and take corrective actions.
- Receive and validate the cleaning contractors shift reports in respect to cleaning activities, manpower and materials.
- Critically examine all areas of the Airport to ensure that the highest standard of presentation and cleanliness are achieved at all times.
- Manage the team of Standards agents to ensure that all toilets fixtures and fittings are examined closely to ensure serviceability and 5 star presentations.

Management & Leadership:
- Establish the department or teams objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.
- Oversee and supervise employees. Direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
- Ensure efficient use of the manpower available within the cleaning teams managing performance to ensure a high standard of cleaning is provided.
- Identifying development needs within the department and train team members.
- Training team members on the safe use of cleaning products, equipment and machinery.

Finance & Purchasing:
- Coordinate effectively with the cleaning contractor and/or HIAA Purchase department to maintain a regular supply of cleaning products and budgeted equipment.
- Carry out regular stock takes and maintain a stock inventory.

Experience & Qualifications:

Requirements

- Diploma in hotel management or qualification in hygiene and sanitation.
- At least 3 years experience in a supervisory role within a hotel or catering company.

Job Specific Skills:
- Knowledge of cleaning, chemicals and cleaning equipment.
- People management and supervisory skills.
- Excellent time management prioritisation skills.
- The ability to work independently.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
- Basic IT literacy including Microsoft packages and internet use.
- Valid Qatari Driving License.

Managerial Skills:
- Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow.
- Strong mentoring and coaching skills.
- Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills.
- Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
