Track Work Manager

Job description / Role

Cavendish Professionals is currently working in an exclusive partnership with Qatar Rail, which is a government-run company set up to manage, operate and maintain three unique and fully integrated rail system to the citizens of Qatar.

Cavendish Professionals is looking for a Trackwork Manager with Slab track construction experience. This role will provide full professional expertise to conduct checking & verification of track work activities done by the Contractor and supervised by the PMCS as well as conducting rail system activities done by the Contractors.

Job purpose:
* Assists Senior Track Work Manager to ensure that the design is compliant with Employer Requirements & construction related activities are delivered in accordance with design specifications & applicable Standards.
* Ensures issues and/or obstacles are resolved in a timely manner. Escalated them as necessary to the Senior Track Work Manager depending on their severity.
* Tracks project milestones and deliverables and sends weekly status reports to the Senior Trackwork Manager.
* Monitors PMCS performance.
* Attends design progress meeting to review design documents, submittals, reports, shop drawings, calculation notes and related design documents when necessary. Monitors design progress. Check that the design submissions are in conformity with the pre-agreed formats and time line for submission.
* Develops technical specifications, functional and Employer's Requirements when necessary.
* Promotes value engineering at an early stage in the design.
* Attends interface meetings to identify and resolve all interfaces with other parties.
* Participates to workshops required to resolve issues in a timely manner.
* Attends work progress meetings.
* Participates to the review of FAT processes, RAMS documents, Methods Statements, Hand-Over Management Plan

Requirements

* BSc Eng., BEng or Equivalent
* Minimum 10 years working experience in design & construction of track work activities (slab track) including conductor rail system.
* Experienced in the design of various track components, 3rd rail traction power systems, track layout and longitudinal profile. Previous Middle East experience.
