Transport Coordinator - Qatar Airways - Doha

This role is responsible for enabling a well – organised day – to – day transportation operation by supporting the Manager – Transport Resources and Qatar Airways User Groups in Doha through effective and efficient planning and managing and accomplishing all transportation activities in a timely and economical manner.

You will be overseeing and scheduling day to day activities of the drivers. You will be in frequent contact with the management team regarding fleet and driver status, obstacles faced, poor driver performance and operational issues to ensure quality service is provided to all Qatar Airways User Groups.

You will assist in obtaining necessary airport passes for third party logistics supplier personnel with regards to airside logistics/transport support. You will visit and inspect third party logistics suppliers to ensure compliance with contractual obligations being maintained and all findings being reported with necessary follow – up steps taken as and when required. You will ensure accuracy and completion of all data entry procedures and/or reports that pertain to Transport Operations.

You will coordinate with the third party logistics suppliers to ensure that all contractual issues like replacement vehicles, registration, drivers, new vehicles etc. are being completed in a timely manner. You will also be responsible in maintenance planning and liaison with User Groups, Corporate Services and third party logistics and assist with the development of IT resources in support of the transport business.

Requirements

You need to hold a University Degree or an equivalent professional qualification with minimum 5 years of job related experience. A Diploma or related qualification in Logistics will be an added advantage. You should have experience dealing with the third party logistic supplier contracts and knowledge in vehicle maintenance planning.

Basic knowledge and understanding of State of Qatar road transport laws and regulations will be preferred for this role. We are looking for someone with driving experience which includes customer processing, route delivery procedures and basic security and operational procedures. You should be someone with good organising and interpersonal skills, ability to communicate at all levels of organisation and conduct research and interpret data. You should have knowledge on MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
