TS Controller (Database Administration) - Qatar Airways - Doha
In this role you will be responsible for the maintenance and support of Qatar Airways databases. You must ensure the availability for all hosting products and database infrastructure based on the priority of the business application. This includes providing solutions in database technologies, reviewing database designs especially Oracle/SQL server, pro-active and reactive performance analysis, monitoring, database security, troubleshooting and resolution of issues.
You will be responsible for regular database capacity planning related to database growth and system utilization, trend analysis and predicting future database resource requirements. You must research, develop, test and evaluate new technologies and products in databases management that includes open source technologies to reduce cost. You should provide solutions to define the database backup strategy and document the database standards and checklists.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have at least 8 plus years of experience in IT, out of which at least 6 years should be specialized technical experience in Database Administration. You must hold minimum of 2-3 years’ experience as senor database administrator in the IT department of a large company.
You should have excellent knowledge on Database Administration, Oracle/SQL Server, Oracle RAC Operating Systems Server and Storage technologies. You are expected to have good communication skills, planning and organizing skills. You must have knowledge and understanding of information technology operations, responsibilities, processes and procedures.
