Job description / Role
The Welfare Officer will lead and develop, under the responsibility of the CSR Coordinator, the welfare programs for current QDVC employees. He will oversee all issues related to social inclusion, social practices, interests and general well-being of the residents of the communities. He will coordinate with HR and QHSE Departments to define the guidelines of the programs.
He will also work closely with the management team of the Serge Moulene Worker Community for all the programs and activities implemented at the Serge Moulene Community.
Other responsibilities include; measure and monitor resident’s interests (leisure activities, hobbies, etc), encourage participation from all residents in various activities such as sports tournaments, gardening, etc, constant liaison with Human Resources and QHSE departments, develop plans and programs related to social inclusion, propose and follow-up on innovative social work practices.
The leitmotiv being residents to “feel home away from home”. Organize all relevant activities contributing to improve residents’ welfare, encourage cross-cultural exchange between residents from all nationalities and enforce feeling of belonging to the QDVC community. Responsibilities also include attend the workers’ committee meetings.

Requirements
- Degree in Sociology, Psychology or related field
- At least five years’ experience in the Middle East in a similar role
- Previous exposure to Worker’s Camp/Community is essential
- Strong background in social inclusion
- Experience in applying positive psychology and well-being theory and methods would be seen as an advantage
- Knowledge of international social responsibility standards
- Cross-cultural orientated and comfortable in working with all nationalities
- Sensitive and respectful of all nationalities
- Fluent in Hindi, Urdu and English. Knowledge of Tamil, Tagalog, Bengali and Nepali would be seen as an advantage
- Leadership qualities and pro-active
- Strong interpersonal & communication skills
- Knowledge of Workers Welfare Standards

QDVC is a Qatari Shareholding Company incorporated under the Law of Qatar.
The Company received Commercial Registration in April 2007.
The percentages held by each shareholders of the company are as follows:
51% by Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company, incorporated in Qatar and acting as the Qatari partner; and
49% by VINCI Construction Grands Projets, incorporated in France and acting as the non-Qatari Partner.
