Director of Engineering

Job description / Role

Our client is looking for an ambitious Director of Engineering to join the preopening team to launch their latest luxury hotel resort in Saudi Arabia. The successful applicant must speak fluent Arabic and have some experience working in Saudi Arabia.

Job Duties:
- Leadership and management of the Maintenance Department, ensuring standards are upheld on a daily basis
- Oversee ongoing maintenance, repair and preventative maintenance in the Hotel, conference and meeting rooms; with a focus to improve efficiency, profitability and service levels
- Co-ordinate renovation and capital projects, managing outside contractors where required
- Responsibility for the preparation and management of the annual maintenance budget and providing assistance with the preparation of the capital plan
- Ensure the hotel complies with all government regulations pertaining to building code requirements, health, fire and life safety programs
- Review ongoing service contracts ensuring superior performance and competitive pricing
- Monitoring energy and water management programs to ensure cost effective use of utilities

Requirements

- Candidate must be fluent in Arabic
- Previous experience working in Saudi Arabia is essential
- Computer literate in MS applications required
- A degree or equivalent in Engineering or related discipline preferred
