Job description / Role
The Paediatric ICU Consultant will join our existing, highly skilled physician team to provide a comprehensive elective and emergency Paediatric ICU service.
Consultants will be required to participate in clinical audits and will be expected to be actively involved in clinical governance activities.
The post-holder will be responsible for the supervision and training of more junior surgical colleagues and to develop research interests relevant to this post.
Requirements
- Board Certified PICU Physician (UK/US/Canada/Europe/South Africa).
- Minimum 1 year PICU Fellowship completed plus at least 3 years post-board certification experience in specialty.
- Ability to take full independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
- Demonstrate ability to carry out clinical research
- Experience of supervising junior staff.
- Ability to teach clinical and operative skills.
- Involvement in the Clinical Audit process and an understanding of the aims thereof.
- Ability to organize and manage outpatient priorities, surgical waiting lists and operating.
