Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Collaborates with Logistics and Sales department to organize an efficient, monitored and safe Sales/AR cycle. In particular, the AR accountant will control the integrity of the transactions - Make sure that any shipment committed in the ERP (SAP) is invoiced as per the specification of the sales order (Quantity, sales price, Incoterm, currency, unit of measure)
- Books all AR related entries, in compliance with IFRS rules, and applying the Octal standard patterns (matrix nature/cost centers, periodicity of entry):
- Shipment related entries (Invoices), on a daily basis
- Credit/debit notes for adjustments on sales prices (e.g. price indexation) or quantities (e.g. customer returns), on a daily basis
- Cash related entries (payments), on a daily basis
- Accrual entries when needed in order to accelerate the closing process, monthly basis

In particular, for logistic related entries (shipments, returns) the AR accountant determines the timing of his entries based both on the underlying inventory transactions and on the incoterm specific to each sales order.
- Generates through SAP and controls (quantity, price, incoterm, currency, unit of measure…) the physical invoices, organizes the transmission of such invoices to the customers in collaboration with Octal logistics department
- Communicates effectively and professionally with the customers in order to satisfy any business related inquiry
- Analyzes the AR ageing on a weekly basis, collects and compares statements of accounts from customers, organizes the first reminders sent directly to customers, collaborates with the Credit and Collection manager for further action, proposes adjustments on the AR Reserves whenever needed
- Provides an accurate collection forecast on a monthly basis

Reviews open items on a monthly basis:
- open down payments from customers
- open price and or volume adjustments
- open customer returns (in collaboration with Quality Control)

- Applies strict rules for Down Payments (as per Octal policy) from identification of advance payment received, up to control on shipments of corresponding goods
- Investigates any failure in the Sales process, identifies root causes autonomously, proposes corrective actions to the AR supervisor and collaborates to their implementation
- Collaborates to a fast month closing process (D+1 for AR related entries). This requires in particular:

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance or part professional qualifications (CA, ACCA, CPA)

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Finance / Accounting or 2 years AR related experience in Manufacturing Environment (Make order or commodity) in a company with a fast closing process under IFRS.
