A state-of-the art developments such as Cardiac and Liver Center; Emergency Care and Trauma Center continues to be the best Trauma Care Center in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is ranked as the 4th Emergency Care Center outside the United States of America, to provide (PHTLS) Pre-Hospital Trauma and Life Support program. Dental, Ambulatory (Outpatient) Care, Long Term Care/ Rehabilitation, Other adult and pediatric services provided include: Surgical and Medical wards, Oncology. Obstetrics and Gynecology (Labor and Delivery, Oncology, Antenatal and Post Partum wards); Oncology, Neonatal ICU, Operating Rooms, Ambulatory Care Center, Home Health Care Program, VIP Wards, Royal Suite, College of Medicine and Nursing College.

UNIT NAME: Pediatric High Dependency Unit 69
Patient Population:
Paediatric - 0 to 14 years
Mixed Gender

Hours of Operation:24 hours / 7 days per week
# of Beds: 24 Beds

STAFF CATEGORIES:
Registered Nurses
Patient Care Educators
Unit Assistant / Interpreters
Patient Care Technician
Play Therapist

PRIMARY PATIENT DIAGNOSES:
All pediatric patients with acute, unstable surgical or medical conditions requiring intermediate level of care between PICU and general wards.

NURSING PROCEDURES:
Patient who's condition require hourly / two hourly physiological monitoring
24-hour cardiac monitoring
Continuous IV medication infusions
Moderate Sedation -for Lumber puncture, skin and muscle biopsy
Assisting with insertion and management and management of chest tube
Continuous Nebulization
PCA and Morphine Infusions
IV Fluids Resuscitations
Airways management including CPAP

Requirements
Registered Nurse with a current Nursinglicense - E
Diploma in Nursing (Western standard)-E
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Western standard) - P
Three (3) years current clinical experience in specific area - E
Previous experience in a teaching role - P
Specific Certification as required in area of assignment - E
English Language Skills: Level I - E
Computer Skills: Proficient - E
