Animal Health Manager, Food Manufacturing, KSA

Global relocation opportunity with an award winning dairy business available for a qualified Vet with experience working with a large milking herd.

An award winning dairy business based is looking for a qualified Vet to become its Animal Health Manager at its most significant KSA based farm.

This role is open for global relocation so the right candidate with the right skill set can be identified from anywhere. This is an excellent opportunity to gain international exposure from a significant, regionally recognised household named brand.

The role is reporting to the Deputy Herd Director and has a large team of reports that facilitate the day to day implementation of health checks to the 20,000+ herd. This role is the strategic head of this team, ensuring that policy is implemented effectively and in a timely manner in order to safeguard animal health levels.

Responsibilities:
- Overseeing in house clinic
- Management of drugs and equipment for clinic including budget responsibility
- Obstetrics & gynaecology care, including reducing calf death and increasing fertility levels
- Reducing cases of mastitis including supervision of milking
- Improvement of hygiene levels that are already to a very high industry standard
- Monitoring of feeding and nutrition levels for the herd
- Post-mortem examinations and reporting of results

Requirements

- Experience with a herd of at least 10,000 milking cows - ideally 20,000 plus
- An internationally recognised Veterinary Science degree from a leading University
- Clear English communications skills, other languages a bonus
- Proven experience with herd fertility and cattle breeding
- Exceptional record with hygiene management
- Extensive experience working with a milking herd and a real passion for the role and industry will be questioned at interview level.
