Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• Ensure that a project runs smoothly and the structure is completed on time and within budget.
• Oversee the work of contractors, consultant, or mentor civil engineers throughout the charter ship process.
• Communicate and liaise effectively with colleagues and architects, subcontractors, contracting civil engineers, consultants, co-workers and clients.
• Review and approve project drawings and compile, check and approve reports.
• Schedule material and equipment purchases and delivery.
• Adopt all relevant requirements around issues such as building permits, environmental regulations, sanitary design, good manufacturing practices and safety on all work assignments.
• Correct any project deficiencies that affect production, quality and safety requirements before final evaluation and project reviews.
• Assess the potential risks of specific projects, as well as undertake risk management in specialist roles
• Monitor, supervise and visit contractors on site and advice on civil engineering issues.
• Prepares engineering scope of work, estimate project Budget and BOQ.
• Prepares engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans, and schedules
• Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications.
• Perform other responsibilities and tasks as directed in order to meet sector objectives.
• Coordinate between consultants, external agencies, contractors, property owners and other utility services for assigned projects

Requirements

• BSc Engineering degree required and advanced degree is preferred
• 8-10 years of related experience out of which the last four years were in a similar position and / or in a similar industry
• Deep insights of Industrial engineers and maintenance engineering
• Wide knowledge of Operations processes re-engineering and optimization tactics
• Track record on process improvement
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Capability to work in teams
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Office, MS project, primavera
