Job description / Role
Client are a leading European Global distributor and manufacturer of sanitary and plastic piping systems for residential and commercial construction. Present in over 45 countries and employing over 14,000 people worldwide. They operate in Europe, North Africa, South AMerica, Australasia, Asia and the Middle East.
They are currently recruiting for an Area Sales Manager to be based in Jeddah handling their sanitary and piping systems divisions.
The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for calling on Architects, Consulting Engineers, Owners and Government offices located within the KSA to develop specifications for the companys brands and create demand for sanitary and piping systems. The ASM will also work with local distributors to ensure they are properly trained and follow up any sales opportunities that have been created. The KAM will gain an in depth knowledge of the market, pricing and distribution. The opportunity exists to move in 6-18 month from the Local Saudi sponsorship to a newly set-up own company KSA office and further expand the role in KSA once the initial objectives have been achieved.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Track new projects and visit Architects, Engineers and Owners to increase the level of the companys specifications.
- Develop distribution strategies in conjunction with the management.
- Coordinate specification and sales opportunities with the local company distributors and assist them to secure orders with local contractors when appropriate.
- Train, educate and support local distributors as needed.
- Participate in local and regional trade shows.
- Provide market intelligence regarding competitor activity, market trends, building specific habits, large projects, new product ideas and new specifications to Marketing and Export Managers of companies.
- Collaborate regularly with Export Managers and local Management to achieve strategies and goals.
- Submit written reports in accordance with the requirements of the business.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is required, with preference given to those with a technical / engineering degree.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience, calling on Architects and Engineers for sanitary related products.
- Exceptional presentation and organizational skills.
- Perfect Arab language skills (written and spoken).
- Good English language skills (written and spoken).
- Prior experience in the building sector, especially sanitary systems, (Exposed Cisterns; Concealed Cisterns, including operating plates and other accessories; Shower Channels; Bathtub and shower wastes; Flushing Mechanisms) is essential.

- Driving license.
