Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Assist with daily business unit reporting
- Assist with monthly variance analysis
- Prepare and post journal entries for month end close activities
- Reconcile various general ledger accounts; clear outstanding items
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc reporting
- Cross train on various accounting functions within the department
- Assist with yearend external audit
- Research outstanding issues as assigned
- Liaison between Accounting and Payroll/HR teams
- Upload the weekly & semi-monthly payroll feeds the General Ledger
- Record month-end payroll related journal entries
- Coordinate employee movements between Companies or Cost Centers
- Headcount reporting
- Analyze financial statements and report on variances on a monthly basis
- Prepare a wide variety of monthly payroll related account reconciliations
- Assist in the documentation and monitoring of internal controls
- Help to identify and implement process improvement and standardization opportunities
- Other projects as assigned by management
- Review, correct and execute pay data inputs and calculations.
- Apply benefit, retirement, deferred compensation, garnishment, and any other deduction rules.
- Perform retroactive calculations and process overpayment recoveries.
- Review exceptions and unprocessed pay data and reconcile errors and make adjustments, as needed.
- Generate pay slips and transfer payroll funds in accordance with the payroll schedule as well as off cycle paycheck runs.
- Distribute expenses to appropriate general ledger accounts.
- Generate payroll reports and relocation reporting and determination of gross-up eligibility.
- Support period-end closes by completing all responsibilities and resolving all open issues within established schedule.

Requirements

- Minimum degree in accounting or finance.
- 1+ years' experience of accounting/payroll experience
- Knowledge in MS office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of basic accounting/payroll procedures.
- Extensive background and understanding of payroll legislation and processes.
- Strong understanding of accounting theory and how to apply it.
- Ability to read, speak and write in the English & Arabic languages in a clear & concise manner.
- Ability to calculate amounts such as discounts, commissions, pro-rations, and percentages.
- Ability to research and resolve Payroll issues.
