AVP - Custody Operation - Saudi Arabia

Job Summary:
Team lead for Custody Operations for KSA reporting into the Head of Operations for Saudi Arabia. Functions under the remit will be clearing, settlements, billing and reporting. The position also contributes to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices. He would also be responsible for building and managing relationships with the front office and other internal and external parties at an appropriate level. Candidate will be expected to pass his CMA certification examination.

Responsibilities:
- Understand, translate and apply GBS and Business strategies and objectives to own GBS Operations unit
- Responsible for the timely, complete and correct processing of transactions (including performing all relevant controls)
- Liaise with the other onshore/offshore functions (as appropriate) to ensure effective and seamless delivery of processes
- Ensure effective operational delivery across product and business lines – preferably against agreed SLAs, KRIs and/or KPIs
- Validate, monitor & measure the efficiency and effectiveness of own end-to-end Operations processes. Consider, suggest and, as appropriate, implement strategies to ensure continuous process improvement. Partner with business units to sponsor the delivery of larger scale change projects/programmes
- Work within budgetary targets set by management, participate in and feed information into the budgetary process
- Highlight and escalate operational, regulatory and other risks with the Head of Operations. Develop, suggest and implement risk mitigation or control solutions within own area of responsibility
- Manage, develop and empower own resources to deliver excellence in Operations in a matrix organisation
- Ensure that the processes are in line with all internal and external policies/guidelines and requirements of the regulators/markets
- Ensure smooth and seamless transition of processes from other DB locations and stabilise the operations
- Manage attrition within the team.
- Talent recognition and People Management
- Ensure Employee mobility within the team.
- Spearhead various process improvement and DBOI wide initiatives – drive projects and efficiency initiatives.
- Conduct regular team meetings and the document the MOM.
- Assist in creating proper backups through adequate cross training, within the department.
- Conduct regular 1-2-1 with the team members.
- Experience of working / partnering with Risk, Audit and Compliance to ensure that the overall organizational objectives are met.
- Any other tasks as may be assigned to him by the Head of Operations

Primary Working Relationships
- Works as a team leader for 3 direct onshore reports
- Coordinate with all business unit managers, support groups for gathering information & resolving issues
- Coordinate with offshore DBOI team leads located in Pune and Jaipur sites

Requirements

Education
- Graduate is bare minimum but a post graduate is preferred
- Candidate will be expected to sit for and clear the CMA run CME-1 certification exam
- Educational Background should be a CA or MBA in Finance

Preferred Work Experience
- Should have worked in an Investment Bank/Custodian/Security market intermediary
- Should have 6-8 years of work experience in which a minimum of 5 years or more should be in securities, settlements or custodian related activities
- Should have been in a Managerial role for at least 2 year in previous organization.

Secondary Skills
- Detailed knowledge of Capital Markets – preferably in MENA markets
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Strong written and presentation skills.
- Microsoft Windows and associated applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Detailed knowledge of SWIFT.
