Business Development Country Director (Civil Engineering) - Saudi Arabia

Linum Consult’s client is a key European civil infrastructure company. They are currently seeking a local Saudi Director of Business Development (“BD”) from an Engineering or Construction background to join their team in Saudi Arabia.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Researching and building relationships with new clients.
• Seeking opportunities for business development within the local Saudi construction sector
• Responsible for heading up their expansion in new markets as well as continued expansion among existing clients
• Creating, negotiating and closing commercial agreements
• Acting as the first point of contact with the Local Government. Supporting business development meetings to communicate, identify, update the status of, and select target projects.
• Developing and directing the implementation strategy (format, objectives, features, benefits, differentiators, etc.).
• Leading the formation of consortiums with construction partners and engineering firms in order to pursue heavy civil and social infrastructure projects
• Negotiating licenses and permits with construction partners and Teaming Agreements with engineering firms.
• Coordinating the presentation strategy (format, objectives, features, benefits, differentiators, etc.). Providing training and preparation for presenters, and observes and provides feedback.
• Representing the company at appropriate conferences, conventions, trade shows, and industry award events.
• Distributing company information to clients, business associations, communities, and other professional groups in an effective, consistent and timely manner.
• Participating in a leadership role in industry organizations to enhance our position and image.

Requirements

PROFILE

• At least 10 years of business development experience within the civil construction industry in Saudi Arabia, with an established network of clients and government contacts
• Proven track record opening new markets, business development and winning new business
• Must possess a strong knowledge of the industry and Saudi market; future trends for possible markets; high visibility and credibility in the market place
• Fluent in spoken and written Arabic and English
• An ability to effectively interact with and sell to multiple organizational stakeholders and varying levels of seniority – from C suite to operations
• Knowledgeable about multiple procurement types (DB, DBF, DBFM, DBFOM)
• Experienced in challenging, complex projects
• Creative and innovative in a problem-solving environment
