Job description / Role
Our client is an international consulting engineering practice delivering engineering solutions for challenging projects across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
They are looking to recruit a Design Manager/ Design Coordinator with experience in heavy Civils for a permanent contract based in Saudi Arabia. You will need to have relevant experience to be considered.
Duties will include:
- Leading full design and coordination process within the project
- Provide design input to pre-qualification questionnaires and interviews.
- Develop relationships with clients during early concept stages; manage expectations of the project through regular communication and discussions regarding requirements and specifications.
- Establishing client requirements and undertaking feasibility studies.
- Agree tender and construction programme with the design team
- Consider and explore alternative building methods, sub-contractors., design features and materials when consulting the client
- Consider the CDM regulations
- Adopt a proactive approach to value engineering throughout the design phase, by keeping up to date with latest construction techniques and legislation;
- Providing a vital managerial interface between client and contractor.
- Liaise with the other Team including Pre-construction, Planning, Commercial, Estimating and Site etc. as well as clients and consultant (architects and engineers) throughout engagement.
- To liaise on project progress to the Directors
Requirements
- Have relevant experience as a Design Manager/ Design Co-ordinator working ideally for an Engineering Consultancy
- Have a sound knowledge of construction methods and processes, a solid understanding of construction materials, traditional and modern methods of construction.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines
- Ideal candidate will have a relevant construction/design related degree
- IT literate and confident using Microsoft package
This role is ideally suited to someone with single status.
