Job Purpose & Objectives
• Developing detailed designs and construction drawings specifically focused on concrete reinforcement, ensuring structural integrity, buildability and compliance with industry and standards.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Concrete Reinforcement Design:
• Utilize engineering principles and software tools to analyze structural requirements and determine optimal reinforcement layouts for concrete elements such as beams, columns, slabs, walls and foundations.
• Conduct structural calculations to assess load-bearing capacity, deflection, and other performance criteria, incorporating factors such as material properties and environmental conditions.

Detailing and Drafting:
• Prepare accurate and detailed construction drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD software, depicting reinforcement layouts, bar bending schedules (BBS), and other relevant information.
• Ensure clarity and precision in drawings to facilitate efficient implementation by construction teams, while adhering to project specifications and industry standards.

Code Compliance and Standards:
• Stay abreast of relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards pertaining to concrete reinforcement design, including Neom requirements.
• Verify that all designs and drawings comply with applicable codes and standards, making necessary revisions or adjustments as required.

Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborate closely with project stakeholders including consultant, client, design, contractors, operations to integrate concrete reinforcement designs seamlessly into overall project plans.
• Communicate effectively to convey design requirements, address technical queries, and coordinate with team members throughout the design and construction phases.
• Coordinate efforts of draught persons and/or sub consultants to meet tight project program.

Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC):
• Implement rigorous QA/QC processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and quality of concrete reinforcement designs and drawings.
• Conduct thorough reviews and checks to identify and rectify errors or inconsistencies, minimizing risks and ensuring compliance with project objectives.

Project Management Support:
• Provide technical support and expertise during project planning, execution, and closeout phases, assisting in project management activities as needed.
• Collaborate with project managers to monitor progress, address challenges, and ensure timely completion of tasks related to concrete reinforcement design and detailing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• 5-10 years of professional experience in civil/structural engineering, with a focus on concrete reinforcement design and detailing.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software
• Thorough understanding of concrete design principles, including reinforcement detailing, material properties, and structural behavior.
• Strong knowledge of relevant building codes, standards, and regulations governing concrete construction.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and quality in design documentation.
• Project management capabilities, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements.
