Due to continued success in the Region we are now seeking an experienced Classification Society Engineer for a Maritime Shipyard Development Project in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.

Maritime Yard is located in Ras Al-Khair Industrial City and will cover a proposed area of 4,100m by 1,200m. Maritime Yard is envisioned to be a world class maritime location providing a combination of New Ship Buildings, and MRO facilities(Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) including Very Large Crude Carrier Capabilities (VLCC). The principal assets for Maritime Yard will be the Dry Docks, Wharfs, Piers and Cranes.

The Classification Society Engineer will hold the following duties and responsibilities:
- Surveying various types of maritime equipment, machinery and cargo-handling equipment.
- To conduct surveys and certifications on behalf of public and governmental authorities.
- To provide and create accurate and concise reports.
- Responsible for client management and responding to client queries on a daily basis.

Requirements

- Qualified to degree-level in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering with significant experience gained from working in a similar role.
- Practical and theoretical knowledge of hull, machinery, materials, equipment and safety systems of ships.
- Physically able to work in confined spaces, hazardous atmospheres, extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
- Ability to work with a diverse range of teams and to also undertake tasks unsupervised.
- Good understanding of procedures and concepts within own discipline and a basic knowledge of these elements in other disciplines.
- Capable of innovative thinking.
- Be able to make evaluative judgements on the analysis of factual information.
- Report/presentation writing skills.
- Sound and comprehensive communications skills are required in order to exchange complex information.
- Willingness to travel frequently.
- Fluent in English.
- Demonstration of high level of effectiveness and commitment.
