Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Purpose:
- To manage the office of the Bank's Saudi Arabian subsidiary in Riyadh , Saudi Arabia with respect to Compliance and to be the Money Laundering Reporting Officer.
- To ensure that the bank’s Saudi Arabia is complying with all laws and regulatory requirements in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Primary Role
- Develop and manage and an effective compliance system for the bank's Saudi Arabia, including appropriate identification of all compliance risks, reporting to the bank's Compliance Officer in Bahrain (the "CO").
- Make recommendations whenever necessary in order to ensure that Saudi Arabian laws and regulations or supervisory requirement are being complied with.
- Require Saudi Arabian regulatory requirements to be incorporated into the bank's Saudi Arabia’s operational procedure manuals where appropriate.
- Establish prompt mechanisms for reporting and resolving non-compliance with Saudi Arabian laws and regulations and supervisory requirements.
- Communicate material breaches of compliance to the appropriate levels of the management so as to ensure that they are adequately addressed and that the appropriate action is undertaken.
- Ensure CMA inspection reports and copies of all correspondence with the CMA is properly actioned, reporting to the CO.
- Compile and maintain a comprehensive database on the statutory records of the bank's Saudi Arabia.
- Review the Capital Market Authority rule book and compliance requirements to ensure that the bank's Saudi Arabia satisfies all regulatory requirements. Alert the CO and the directors of the bank's Saudi Arabia of any new circulars from Saudi Arabian regulators or auditors etc.
- Ensure that the bank's Saudi Arabia has an effective Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan that meet with the bank criteria and the requirements of the CMA as well as the Central Bank of Bahrain.
- Working with the General Counsel of the bank, ensure that the bank's Saudi Arabia holds adequate insurance cover for all possible risks and that expert advice is obtained on a regular basis to ensure that the bank's Saudi Arabia is not left at risk

Provide advice to the Chief Compliance Officer and management with respect to compliance with:
- Saudi Arabian law: e.g. company law, banking law, capital markets law, employment legislation, social security and health and safety legislation;
- The regulations, circulars and rules of the Capital Market Authority; and
- The bank’s Code of Conduct.

Requirements

- Successful candidate will be a self-starter with relevant experience (3+ years) in banking environment.
- Good English communication skills.
- Fluency in Arabic preferred.
- Strong knowledge of CMA Rules and legal practices in the Saudi region.
- CMA qualified
- Good interpersonal skills and team orientation.
