Employment: Full Time

We are looking for a Arabic speaking Construction Logistics Officer (Rail/Metro) to work for a main contractor on the Riyadh Metro project in Saudi Arabia.

The Construction Logistics Officer reports direct to the Construction Logistics Manager.

He will assist the Construction Logistics Manager in detailed logistic planning.

This will include planning routes from work sites to off-load sites for the effective removal of excavated material.

Determining bus routes from accommodation to work site locations for the manual workforce, and, more generally, ensuring the effective transit of all material around the project.

This planning will take into account movement permissions, road conditions and the impact of traffic on the delivery of the logistic plan.

The Construction Logistics Officer will provide on the ground co-ordination between the project and the subcontractor.

He will make sure that the sub-contractor complies with company procedures and that any lapses by the sub-contractor are caught and addressed, as early as possible.

He will also assist the Construction Logistic Manager in keeping the sub-contractor informed of any changes to the programme schedule, which may result in changes to the numbers of sub-contracted assets employed on a particular task.

The Construction Logistics Officer will have a solid working knowledge of warehouse management and material distribution, to include the management of small tools and consumable items.

He will possess the logistic knowledge and Arabic language skills to engage with the Riyadh Municipality and local companies without additional assistance.

The Construction Logistics Officer must be agile and flexible enough to respond to short notice changes in his job description, in order to meet the changing requirements of the project

Excavated Material Removal Successful planning and delivery of the excavated material removal process in accordance with company procedures.

Manual Labour Transport Successful delivery of manual labour at worksite locations, in line with agreed shift patterns.

Water re-supply, both potable and construction water Provision of an effective water replenishment service, which successfully delivers potable and construction water to all worksites when required by the different delivery areas.

Portable toilets and sewage removal Provision of an effective toilet emptying and sewage removal service.

Warehouse Management Receipt and Distribution Effective distribution of material from different warehouse locations to construction worksites.

Small Tools and Consumables Effective distribution and tracking of small tools and consumables.

Requirements

- Must speak Fluent Arabic
- 10 years minimum experience in logistics
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent prioritization and time management
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Customer-focused with an intuitive understanding of client service
- Well-developed negotiation skills
- Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma desirable
